Roma- Menu re-launch; Pinkerala shares the experience.

The new menu launch and tasting of Roma, the Italian restaurant of Holiday Inn Cochin happened on 27th July, 2018. In house guests and eminent personalities like MLA Hibi Eden, GM of Holiday Inn Cochin Mr. Deepak Kumar and many other celebrities like Ms. Swasika Vijay, Mr. Kukku Suhaid, Mr. Sijoy Varghese were present during the occasion. After a short introduction by GM , the Executive Chef Jitendra Nakhwa launched the new menu. Few of the signature dishes from the menu were displayed such as “Fine duck with beef Carpaccio and Spaghetti with scampi”, the fine duck is cooked in its own fat for 6 hours.
The inauguration was really a colourful event as the entire team including Chef-de- cuisine Shankar Dhakal walked out with Italian music playing on the background. After which there was a heavenly spread with all the exquisite dishes. There was a wide variety of Pizzas including their newly launched Pizza Carponata and Pizza Capricciosa. The main dishes were true to Italian classic dishes, with 70% of pasta being home-made and prepared with fresh vegetables. The new member of the dessert family was “Crumble di Mele Cotte al Fonio” along with classics like Tiramisu and Pannacotta.
The star attraction of the whole menu was the live Seafood counter, where you can choose the Seafood of your liking and it will be marinated and grilled to your liking. Seafood can’t get any fresher than this. And that’s the quality of food offered by Roma.
After everyone has enjoyed their food with classic wine, the head chef himself spoke to the guests and took feedback. Most of the guests were very excited to provide their feedback too, some were happy that they have found a restaurant that stays true to Italian taste in India.
MLA Hibi Eden was very excited as the stagnancy of menu is gone away with this new change and he also quoted that he is a usual visitor of Roma along with his family and also shared that his favourite dish of Roma is their “Classic Lasagne”.
There was also an Italian family among the guest, their feedback was that the food is delicious and the Bolognese Pasta they had was very tasty as it had a great amount of meat in it, which made all the difference. The chef was also nice enough to ask the grandmother of the family to share her feedback in Italian.
Overall the menu tasting was a classy evening with wine and dine and Roma is definitely creating a love for Italian cuisine in keralite’s heart.
